What Is The Best Time Of Year To Clean Gutters?
Gutter cleaning is important to keep rain flowing off your roof and away quickly so that it doesn’t overflow and soak your home’s walls.
Regular cleaning is the solution to the build up of grime and debris, but how often is it needed? And when in the year is it best to give your roofline a good clean up?
As a rule of thumb, twice a year is a good minimum to be sure that blockages don’t have time to build up too much. Of course, every case is different but the average home will be fine with a bi-annual clean.
Ideally arrange for one clean in the spring and one clean in the autumn. That should allow for leaves to be cleared from the autumn shed from any nearby trees, and the spring clean removes debris that flows down with the heavier rain over the colder months.
If you live in an area with a lot of tall trees you may suffer with more leaves collecting, so may need more frequent visits, or time them more accurately once the trees are bare for the winter months.
